Senior Accountant
Stratos Wealth Partners is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is passionate about supporting accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and operational excellence. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in core accounting functions, month-end close, and financial reporting that help support the continued growth of the organization.
Job Responsibilities:
Perform a broad range of general accounting functions, including journal entries, account reconciliations, account analysis, and support schedule preparation.
Execute month-end close responsibilities in a timely and organized manner.
Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal accounting policies, and established financial procedures while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and accountability.
Support SOX compliance efforts through documentation of accounting processes, execution of controls, and maintenance of organized audit-ready records.
Compile, analyze, and refine financial data to support management reporting.
Develop a strong working knowledge of the general ledger system and related financial tools to support efficient processing and reporting.
Serve as a reliable backup for key accounting functions and assist in maintaining continuity across the department.
Partner with colleagues across Finance and other departments to resolve issues, improve workflows, and contribute to process enhancements that support scalability and efficiency.
Provide additional support on special projects, ad hoc reporting needs, and other related duties as assigned.

Job requirements
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in general ledger accounting and financial reporting, preferably in a public company environment.
Strong understanding of GAAP, with the ability to apply accounting principles in a practical business setting.
Experience supporting accounting policies, procedures, and documentation in a SOX-controlled environment.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and data validation.
Experience with ERP or general ledger systems; familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is a plus.
